Mater Hospital and Orthopaedic Day Surgery
The Mater Hospital is a facility of St Vincents and Mater Health. It is one of the largest orthopaedic hospitals in the southern hemisphere, with approximately 1500 joint replacement operations, and a high volume of sports and arthroscopic surgery, taking place at the hospital each year. Naturally, the physiotherapists and nursing staff are particularly familiar with this type of surgery and can really make a difference to patients in the time following their recovery.
The Mater Orthopaedic Day Surgery opened in conjunction with the Mater Clinic in 2009. Dr Sherlock performs minimally invasive and arthroscopic procedures in this state of the art facility.
Dr Sherlock is a member of the Specialist Orthopaedic Group and consults weekly at the Mater Clinic. Click here to visit the Specialist Orthopaedic Group website.
The Mater Hospital is situated in Rocklands Road in Crows Nest. It is a not-for-profit private hospital surrounded by lovely gardens. There is a pharmacy and café in the hospital. Parking is available for visitors at a cost of $7.00, although at peak times when the carpark is very busy, it may be necessary to find parking on the street. The hospital is only 10 minutes from the city and can be conveniently accessed by car or by buses which run along the Pacific Highway.
